Credential on File Agreement

Last updated: July 12, 2025

1. Introduction

This Credential on File Agreement ("Agreement") governs the storage and use of your payment credentials by Boost Leveling. By providing your payment information and agreeing to have it stored for future transactions, you accept the terms of this Agreement.

This Agreement is designed to provide transparency about how we handle your payment information and to ensure that your financial data is protected in accordance with industry standards and applicable regulations.

2. Credential Storage

When you choose to save your payment information, we securely store your payment credentials through our payment service providers. We implement the following practices:

  • We do not directly store complete credit card numbers or security codes on our servers
  • Payment information is encrypted using industry-standard encryption protocols
  • We use tokenization to replace sensitive payment data with non-sensitive equivalents
  • Access to stored payment information is strictly limited and monitored

Our payment service providers are PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliant, ensuring that your payment information is handled according to rigorous security standards.

3. Use of Stored Credentials

By agreeing to this policy, you authorize Boost Leveling to:

  • Store your payment credentials for future transactions, making the checkout process faster and more convenient
  • Process payments using your stored credentials when you authorize a purchase or subscription renewal
  • Update your stored payment information if the card issuer provides updated information (such as new expiration dates for replaced cards)
  • Verify your payment method through small authorization holds or charges that are immediately reversed

We will never charge your payment method without your explicit authorization for each transaction, except for previously agreed-upon subscription renewals or installment payments, which will be clearly communicated to you in advance.

4. Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your stored credentials, including:

  • Encryption: All sensitive data is encrypted both in transit and at rest using strong encryption algorithms
  • PCI DSS Compliance: We adhere to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards for handling payment information
  • Regular Security Audits: We conduct periodic security assessments and penetration testing
  • Access Controls: Only authorized personnel with a legitimate business need can access payment systems
  • Monitoring: We maintain logs and monitoring systems to detect and respond to suspicious activities
  • Employee Training: Our staff receives regular training on data security and privacy practices

Despite these measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information but cannot guarantee its absolute security.

5. Transaction Authorization

We will only process payments using your stored credentials when you have explicitly authorized a transaction. Each transaction will be confirmed through:

  • Explicit Consent: Your active confirmation at the time of purchase
  • Transaction Receipts: A confirmation email for each transaction containing details of the purchase
  • Account History: Transaction records in your account dashboard
  • Notifications: Alerts for new charges or subscription renewals (if enabled)

For recurring payments or subscription services, we will provide advance notice before processing each payment, as required by applicable laws and card network rules.

6. Managing Your Stored Credentials

You can manage your stored payment credentials at any time by:

  • Account Settings: Accessing the payment methods section in your account dashboard
  • Adding Payment Methods: Adding new cards or payment options to your account
  • Updating Information: Modifying existing payment method details
  • Removing Payment Methods: Deleting payment methods you no longer wish to use
  • Setting Default Payment: Choosing your preferred payment method for future transactions
  • Customer Support: Contacting our support team to assist with payment method management

You have the right to withdraw your consent for credential storage at any time by removing your payment methods from your account.

7. Credential Expiration and Updates

If your payment method expires or is replaced, you are responsible for updating your payment information. In some cases, our payment processors may automatically update your card information if the card issuer provides this service.

Automatic updates may include:

  • New expiration dates for the same card number
  • New card numbers for replaced cards (through card network update services)
  • Updated billing addresses provided by the issuing bank

We will notify you when your payment information has been automatically updated through these services.

8. Termination

You may terminate this Agreement at any time by removing all stored payment methods from your account or by contacting our customer support. We may also terminate this Agreement if:

  • We decide to no longer offer the credential storage service
  • Your account has been inactive for an extended period
  • We detect suspicious or fraudulent activity related to your payment methods
  • You violate our Terms of Service or other policies

Upon termination, we will delete or anonymize your stored payment information in accordance with our data retention policies and applicable laws.

9. Liability

While we implement strong security measures to protect your payment information, you agree that:

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You will promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account or payment methods
  • You will review your transaction history regularly and report any discrepancies

Our liability is limited as described in our Terms of Service. You may have additional rights under your card issuer's policies or applicable consumer protection laws.

10. Changes to This Agreement

We may update this Agreement from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated to you via email or through a notice on our website.

Continued use of our credential storage service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Agreement. If you do not agree with the changes, you should remove your stored payment methods and discontinue using this feature.
